Michael Berardi (’19) was recently recognized by UMBC’s alumni community as a “Rising Star” for his entrepreneurial work as the co-founder and general manager of OCA Mocha. Michael and his partner, Deep Patel (’19, biological sciences and financial economics), offered inspiring remarks about the importance of community and how their local coffee shop helps to foster it.
